Intercultural communication 



For the world is important the intercultural communications For the world, intercultural communications are the interactions with people from another culture. Sometimes, this is used to describe a single person trying to interact in a foreign environment but more often, it is a two-way street, where people from both cultures are trying to improve their communication.Communication between two people of different culture is not only talking, it is also about understanding language. In one of these chapters we learn about this importance. Communicating is a way of knowing a little beyond the world and what surrounds us. It allows us to know how the cultures of each place, language, way of life and way of being are. We learn that culture refers to the cumulative deposit of knowledge, experience, beliefs, values, attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, religion, notions of time, roles, spatial relations, concepts of the universe, and material objects and possessions acquired by a group of people in the course of generations. Thanks to this we learn to know things that we did not think possible and to learn to value and respect people more and communicate more.



Communicating in groups











This chapter for me is of great importance for each person, especially for work. A group is two or more people working together with discipline and good aptitude. Communicating in groups is important to work on projects, choose something specific or simply to have a good relationship. This helps people to have better personal development and feel comfortable when it comes to being with more people. Communication is good to reflect every time we are with others, especially at work. Working in a team is not only having the skill of the job but is knowing how to work with others. Being united is also essential, people must share similar perspectives, values ​​and interests. Understanding others, being communicative and knowing how to listen to others is of great help to be able to carry out a successful job. That happens in the same way with our group of family and friends. it is good to be communicative in a family environment, it is a way to get to know each other better and feel comfortable with each other. Respecting yourself, supporting the decisions of others, being genuine is helpful not only to help us, but also to trust others. Communicating between the family is what makes them close, that they are apologetic and that they can express ideas or thoughts and be heard.


Leadership and problem solving 


 

Many times we do not know why when creating a group to carry out some work, good results are not obtained. The answer is because to achieve results in groups you need a leader. A leader is an influence that a group has to achieve a common goal. A leader is of great importance since he is the one who directs a group so that the work done is accomplished together. He is in charge of ensuring that during the process carried out everything is with good energy and in a positive way. It provides important information that is helpful to complement teamwork. The leader divide work equally and accurately. Also, help a group develop and maintain cohesion, commitment and positive working relationships. Decide and know each step, strategy and be aware of meetings and schedules.



 All these chapters for me have been of great importance because they have taught me the general importance of being communicative with other people so that everything we do is in a more transparent and easy way. It is a way that everything in life is more cooperative. It is the tool for relating, obtaining what we need or what we want, and for expressing who we are.

This was our first class presentation, and we were all split into groups with assigned chapters 3, 9  and 10. Since this was our first time presenting in the class, I was extremely nervous to present  because  I am very shy and I don't like being the center of attention. Just having the feeling of  knowing all my classmates and professor are watching, and analyzing my presentation, was very  nerve-racking. I was part of group one, which focused on chapter 3: intercultural communication.  After we presented, I felt relieved that I got past the hardest part, which was speaking in front of  the class. That was one thing that I did not like, which was present, but since this is a speech  class we all are learning how to properly speak in public and overcome our fears. Thoughts on Presentations   In my Speech class for Summer 2021, we were all divided into three groups and were supposed to present a certain chapter; I was in group 1 and in charge of Chapter 3. Before even presenting the chapter to our Speech class I was already nervous and stressed. I had a lot of responsibility being the group leader, I was in charge of giving instructions and answering many questions, that I did not know and made me a bit stressed. I was also afraid that my classmates were not going to do their work and I was going to look bad in front of the professor, however, I was more than surprised; when I checked the PowerPoint and saw that everyone did their respective part, I was very happy and content that I got them to work with.
